The story
Boland Cellar was founded on 17 June 1941 by nine farmers from the Paarl area, who formed their own winery after an earlier collective of Boland growers outgrew its facilities. The cellar is still built on that collaboration, working with partner growers across Paarl, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Breedekloof and the Swartland, with around 1,900 hectares of vineyards between them.
Its ranges run from the flagship One Formation and premium Reserve wines to Classic Selection varietals, the everyday Sixty-40 blends and A Hint Of, with Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon among the key varieties. The range also includes natural sweet red wines.
