The story
The Quevedo story began in 1889, when Abel Gouveia Costa planted the first family vineyards in Valongo dos Azeites. In the 1970s Oscar and Beatriz Quevedo modernised the winery in São João da Pesqueira, and in 1993 they launched the Quevedo brand, bottling Port under their own label. Today the fifth generation leads the house: Cláudia, winemaker since 1998, and Oscar, in charge of global sales.
The family farms 102 hectares of vines and 25 hectares of organic olive groves in the Cima Corgo, with part of the land organic since 2012. The range spans Ports from Ruby and LBV to Vintage, Colheita and aged Tawnies, plus Douro DOC wines, experimental Q-Labs bottlings, a Botanical Infusion Dry Gin (including a version matured in old Port casks) and organic olive oil.
