Caves do Monte

Caves do Monte was founded in 1992 in Sousela, in the municipality of Lousada, with the aim of making the Vinho Verde wines of its home region known beyond it. The company operates from a 42,000 m² site with 3,400 m² of covered space, two modern bottling lines with a capacity of around 10,000 litres per hour, and more than 2 million litres of stainless-steel storage. Winemaking is led by António Sousa.

The range spans two regions. From Vinho Verde comes Valemesio, a white from Arinto, Azal, Loureiro and Trajadura and a rosé. From the Douro come the Entre Quintas Grande Reserva red, from Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, and the Alma da Vinha white, from Malvasia Fina, Gouveio and Viosinho. Castro Velho completes the range as an everyday red.
