The story
Fecovita, the Federation of Argentine Wine Cooperatives, was founded in Mendoza in October 1980 and has become Argentina's largest wine producer, uniting cooperatives of around 5,000 grape growers. In 1990 it acquired the bottling and marketing business of the historic Giol winery, including Toro, Argentina's best-selling wine.
Today it bottles more than 270 million litres a year across every price segment, from everyday brands such as Toro, Nativo and Resero to Estancia Mendoza and Canciller at the top end. Its export portfolio also includes Arizu, Progreso and the Laderas, Colinas and Atardecer de los Andes ranges, and Fecovita is Argentina's leading exporter of bulk wine.
