Guarda-freio is the old Portuguese name for a tram driver, literally the one who "keeps the brake". The label shows one of Lisbon's yellow trams, and the wine is made in the same easy-going spirit: a dry white from the Tejo region, north-east of the capital, made from Fernão Pires and Arinto.
