Crocodile River takes its name from the river that runs along the southern edge of South Africa's Kruger National Park, and the label puts its namesake front and centre: a crocodile surrounded by birds, its scales picked out in varnish. The wine itself comes from the Western Cape winelands at the other end of the country. The white blends Chenin Blanc, South Africa's most planted grape, with Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting notes

Fresh and fruit-driven, with flavours of peach, lime and tropical lychee.

Grapes and region

About 60% Chenin Blanc and 40% Sauvignon Blanc, from W.O. Western Cape.

Winemaking

Harvested in February. Selected yeasts and three weeks of cool fermentation bring out the tropical fruit and freshness; the two varieties are blended after stabilisation.

Serving and storage

Serve with poultry or fish, or on its own.
