Lisboa Velha means "Old Lisbon", and the label shows one of the city's green Art Nouveau kiosks, where Lisboetas have stopped for a coffee or a cold drink for more than a century. The wine comes from the Lisbon wine region, where the nearby Atlantic keeps the wines fresh and balanced. This white is a dry blend of Fernão Pires, Arinto and Chardonnay.
Tasting notes
Bright citrus yellow. Fresh and fruity on the nose, with citrus, green apple and white flowers. Light, balanced and refreshing, with a pleasant finish.
Grapes and region
Fernão Pires, Arinto and Chardonnay, from the IGP Lisboa region on Portugal's Atlantic coast. Fernão Pires brings floral aromas, Arinto natural freshness and Chardonnay a little more body.
Winemaking
The must is cooled to 15 °C and fermented with selected yeasts at a controlled 16–18 °C.
Serving and storage
Serve at 8–10 °C with seafood such as prawns, mussels and octopus, grilled fish, fresh salads, seafood pasta, sushi, light Asian dishes, fresh cheeses and chicken.
